Oct 26 (NHK) - Japanese golfer Matsuyama Hideki has won his seventh PGA Tour held in Japan after a year's absence.
The final round of the Zozo Championships 2021 tour took place on Sunday, in Chiba Prefecture east of Tokyo.
Matsuyama started the day as the sole leader. At the par-five 6th hole he sank an eagle putt to widen his lead.
Cameron Tringale from the United States took the lead at one point, but Matsuyama regained top spot with three birdies on the back nine.
On the 18th hole Matsuyama reached the green in two shots and sunk another eagle putt, finishing the tournament at 15 under par.
This is his first PGA victory since the Masters in April.
Brendan Steele from the US and Tringale finished tied for second place at 10 under par.
