Communications Research Laboratory
(CRL), has its roots in the Radio Telegraph Research Division, Electrotechnical Laboratory, Ministry of Communications, where research on radio communication was started in Japan in 1896. The CRL disseminates time and frequency standards and provides ionospheric and solar activity data for general use.
National Diet Library
Modeled on the U.S. Library of Congress, the National Diet Library is under the control of the Speaker of the House of Representatives and the President of the House of Councilors. It consists of four main libraries and a number of smaller libraries spread throughout many government offices
