High court finds 3 ex-aides of Ozawa guilty on political funds

Tokyo High Court on Wednesday upheld a lower court guilty verdicts for three former aides to Japanese political power broker Ichiro Ozawa for falsifying political fund reports in violation of the political funds control law.
Presiding judge Yoshinobu Iida supported the Tokyo District Court ruling of 2011 and turned down an appeal by the defense.
House of Representatives lawmaker Tomohiro Ishikawa, 39, was sentenced to two years in prison, suspended for three years, Takanori Okubo, 51, to three years, suspended for five years, and Mitsutomo Ikeda, 35, to one year, suspended for three years.
