Abe cabinet support stays high at 61 pct: Jiji poll

The support rating for the cabinet of Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe stood at 61.4 pct in March, unchanged from the previous month, staying at high levels about two and a half months after the cabinet's launch, a Jiji Press poll showed Friday.
The disapproval rating fell 0.8 percentage point to 16.7 pct, according to the public opinion poll conducted for four days from March 8.
Support for Abe's Liberal Democratic Party gained 1.7 points to 28.2 pct, up for the third consecutive month.
