Japanese fighters track Russian bombers
NHK -- Mar 16

Japanese fighter jets have scrambled to track 2 Russian bombers that flew around the archipelago.

Defense ministry officials say radar picked up 2 Russian Tu-95 bombers as they flew south over the Sea of Japan on Friday morning off the southwestern island of Kyushu. They say the bombers next flew over the East China Sea around the main island of Okinawa then headed north over the Pacific off the islands of Honshu and Hokkaido. They say the bombers did not enter Japan's airspace.
