3 Chinese vessels sail inside territorial waters around Senkakus
Kyodo -- Mar 18

Three Chinese maritime surveillance vessels on Monday sailed inside Japanese territorial waters around the Japanese-administered Senkaku Islands in the East China Sea, according to the Japan Coast Guard.

It is the 34th time a Chinese government ship or ships have entered Japanese waters since Tokyo purchased in September a major part of the disputed islands that China calls Diaoyu. It also marked the first entry by such a ship since last Tuesday.

The 11th Regional Coast Guard Headquarters in Naha, Okinawa Prefecture said the Chinese vessels entered the area for about 35 minutes from around 6:30 p.m.
