Commuters were thrown into a panic, screaming and fleeing a man who started stabbing people on a busy Tuesday morning near Toyocho Station in Koto Ward, Tokyo.
"You bastards!" the man shouted as he stabbed four men in the area, crowded with people heading to work and school. The four received minor injuries.
The man continued chasing people around, but was subdued by passersby.
According to witnesses, the man allegedly began stabbing people at an intersection near Toyocho Station on the Tozai subway line.
According to a man who witnessed the incident, a man began fighting back against the alleged assailant after being chased.
The man grabbed a pole--used to hold a banner--from the front of a shop and began poking the other man.
The alleged assailant became more violent, swinging the knives, the witness said.
However, he fell after being hit with the pole several times, and some men jumped on him.
