Tokyo Toy Show opens ahead of summer shopping season

A full range of toys, from toy smartphones to new versions of well-known games, are on display at the International Tokyo Toy Show 2013, which opened Thursday ahead of Japan's summer shopping season.

Some 35,000 items from 148 domestic and overseas makers are on show at the four-day event at the Tokyo Big Sight convention center.
