40% of Japanese see summer bonus grow

A private-sector survey of workers showed that 39.6 percent of respondents saw their summer bonuses this year increase from the previous year's levels.

The average amount of summer bonuses paid to the surveyed people this year came to 559,000 yen, up by 64,000 yen from a year before.
