JR plans line connecting Haneda, central Tokyo
Yomiuri -- Nov 12
East Japan Railway Co. is planning to construct a new line connecting central Tokyo and Haneda Airport ahead of the 2020 Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games, it has been learned.

According to sources, JR East is likely to utilize the Tokaido freight line, which connects a site near JR Yamanote Line's Tamachi Station and the Tokyo Bay area where the airport is located. The line's operations are currently suspended. A new station will be built in the basement of the airport terminal, and connected with the new line via a tunnel.
