Jun 21 (NHK) - Two Japanese dancers have won first prize in different categories in the Moscow International Ballet Competition.
The competition is held every four years and is one of the most prestigious ballet contests in the world.
Koya Okawa won the first prize in the male duet. The 25-year-old dancer belongs to a ballet company in the Russian republic of Tatarstan. This is the first time in 24 years that a Japanese has won first prize in the seniors division.
