Hydrangeas in full bloom attracting visitors

NHK -- Jun 21

Hydrangea flowers are in full bloom in Tokyo and the surrounding area. They are a welcome sight for people who don't like the rainy season.

Kinsenji temple in the town of Ranzan in Saitama Prefecture has about 5,700 hydrangeas.

A priest at the temple says the flowers began blooming about one week earlier than usual, and their colors are becoming more vivid by the day.

The Nichiunji temple in Chiba Prefecture is also attracting fans of the flowers.

The hydrangeas will be at their best at both sites until mid-July.
