Jul 04 (Japan Today) - Two women were struck and killed by a train along the Tobu Tojo Line tracks in Higashimatsuyama, Saitama Prefecture, on Monday morning, in what police believe was a suicide.
According to police, the incident occurred just before 1 a.m. between Takasaka and Higashi-Matsuyama stations, Fuji TV reported. The train driver was quoted by police as saying he saw two people standing on the tracks together. He said he applied the emergency brake but could not stop in time.
