Japan urges Britain to minimize Brexit impact

Japanese government and business leaders urged Britain on Thursday to minimize the negative impact of the country's exist from the European Union, or Brexit.

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, speaking at a Japan-Britain business forum, called for due consideration to Japanese companies operating in Britain.

"Realizing the exit smoothly and successfully is extremely important for Britain, Europe and the world economy," Abe said.

Japanese industry minister Hiroshige Seko held talks with visiting British International Trade Secretary Liam Fox and sought to avoid negative effects from Brexit on Japanese companies.
