16-year-old boy arrested over father's murder

Sep 22 (Japan Today) - Police in Shizuoka City said Friday they have arrested a 16-year-old boy on suspicion of stabbing his 51-year-old father to death at their home.

According to police, the boy stabbed his father several times in the neck with a knife at around 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Fuji TV reported. The boy's mother called police to report the attack.

The victim was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Police said the victim's wife told them she had not been aware of any trouble between her son and his father.
