Nov 25 (NHK) - Japanese aviation authorities say a faulty air traffic control system temporarily prevented aircraft from entering airspace around Hokkaido, northern Japan on Friday night.
They say the trouble began shortly before 8 PM, Japan time, but it was solved about 90 minutes later.
However, flight schedules to Hokkaido and surrounding areas remain disrupted.
Air carriers said earlier that flights heading for airports in Hokkaido and surrounding areas were turning back and takeoffs in the areas were also being suspended.
