Jun 17 (NHK) - An earthquake shook Gunma Prefecture, north of Tokyo, on Sunday afternoon. No major damage has been reported.
The tremor was felt around 3:27 PM, local time. Officials with the Japan Meteorological Agency estimate the quake had a magnitude of 4.6.
They say the epicenter is the southern part of Gunma Prefecture and the depth is 14 kilometers.
The officials say the quake had an intensity of 5 minus on the Japanese scale of 0 to 7 in Shibukawa City and 4 in the surrounding areas.
No tsunami alert has been issued.
