Jul 05 (NHK) - Japanese Emperor Akihito is resting for a 3rd day in a row due to cerebral anemia, although officials say his condition is improving.
The Emperor has canceled or postponed his official duties since Monday, after complaining of dizziness and a stomachache. Doctors say the symptoms are due to cerebral anemia.
The Imperial Household Agency says the Emperor is resting as a precaution on Wednesday, despite his improved condition.
He was due to join a luncheon with foreign envoys, together with Empress Michiko. Crown Prince Naruhito went on his behalf.
The agency's officials say the Emperor will carry out some duties, such as signing government documents, while he continues to rest.
