TSE system error halts trades

NHK -- Oct 10

The operator of the Tokyo Stock Exchange says trading was partially disrupted due to system trouble on Tuesday but was expected to return to normal on Wednesday.

The Japan Exchange Group said one of its 4 systems that accept orders from brokerages halted at around 7:30 AM. It says due to a mistaken transmission, the system received over 1,000 times more data than usual within less than one minute.

The fault resulted in about 40 brokerages being unable to trade shares, or having their transactions delayed.
