Tokyo reports 116 new coronavirus cases; nationwide tally 449

The Tokyo metropolitan government on Sunday reported 116 new cases of the coronavirus, down 65 from Saturday. The number is the result of 5,024 tests conducted on Sept 3.

The tally brought Tokyo's cumulative total to 21,772

The number of infected people with severe symptoms is 27, unchanged from Saturday, health officials said.

Nationwide, the number of reported cases was 449. After Tokyo, the prefectures with the most cases were Kanagawa (79), Osaka (67), Fukuoka (35), Aichi (27), Chiba (23) and Saitama (21).

Five deaths due to coronavirus-related illnesses were reported.

6日に東京都が確認した新型コロナウイルスの新たな感染者は116人でした。いわゆる「夜の街」の感染者は6月9日以来初めてゼロとなりました。  東京都によりますと、感染が確認されたのは10歳未満から90代の男女116人です。多い時には全体の8割ほどを占めていた20代と30代は4割を切り、感染は全世代に広がっています。感染経路別では家庭内が20人で最も多く、10代の子ども3人と40代の母親の感染が確認されたケースもありました。この家族はこれまでに父親や他の子どもら6人が陽性となっていて、合わせると10人が感染しています。また、今月6日の新規感染者のなかに夜の繁華街の関係者はいませんでした。夜の繁華街に関係する感染者が確認されなかったのは6月9日以来です。
