Man jumps from hotel after children found dead

The father of three children who were found dead in southwestern Japan has sustained serious injuries after jumping from a hotel building.

Police believe he knows how the children died.

The father is in his 40s. On Thursday, the body of his 9-year-old son was found in an apartment in the city of Iizuka, Fukuoka Prefecture.

The boy's 3-year-old brother and 2-year-old sister were found dead with injuries at a hotel in Kagoshima city on Friday night. The father then jumped from the building.

Police suspect the children were murdered.
