Body of teacher Alice Hodgkinson found after disappearance in Japan

The body of a Nottinghamshire teacher who disappeared in Japan has been discovered, it has been reported.

Former Bluecoat Academy pupil Alice Hodgkinson, 28, was reported missing after she failed to turn up to work on Wednesday, June 30, in Kanagwa, Tokyo.

Alice had travelled to Japan last March to teach English for a year but decided to carry on.

On Tuesday, July 6, Alice's dad Stephen explained he was waiting by the phone for news and how in their last communication nothing appeared to be out of the ordinary.

"There was no sign within the email that anything was wrong. It was a normal communication," he said.

"There's nothing I can do and I am just waiting by the telephone for news at the moment."

According to national reports on Friday, July 9, Alice's body was found by police in Japan.
