Man arrested for stealing woman’s underwear from laundry

Police in Beppu, Oita Prefecture, have arrested a 56-year-old man on suspicion of stealing women’s underwear from a laundry.

According to police, Tetsuo Urata, of no fixed occupation, has admitted to stealing 6 items of underwear belonging to a university student at around 11 p.m. on Aug 24 from a coin laundry, Fuji TV reported. Police said a search of Urata’s home turned up 730 items of women’s underwear which he has admitted stealing.

Police said Urata was identified through surveillance camera footage.
