Mar 02 (NHK) - Toyota Motor has restarted its plants in Japan, one day after a cyberattack targeting a key supplier forced it to shut down production lines.
The automaker says it has set up a temporary network to liaise with the supplier.
Kojima Industries, which manufactures a wide range of products for Toyota, learned of the cyberattack over the weekend and shut down all its servers and network connections. That made it impossible to take orders or coordinate deliveries.
Toyota shut down all of its domestic production lines on Tuesday, including those in the plants of its subsidiaries, Daihatsu Motor and Hino Motors, affecting the production of around 13,000 units.
