Nagano woman arrested for attempted murder after strangling 1-year-old daughter

Police said Monday they have arrested a 40-year-old woman for allegedly strangling her one-year-old daughter at their home in Iiyama, Nagano Prefecture.
The woman, who has been named as Ikue Inose, called police at around 3 .p.m. on Sunday and said that she had strangled her baby, NTV reported.
Police rushed to the scene and took the child to hospital where doctors said she was suffering from organ failure.
A 24-year-old woman was in a serious condition Friday after being stabbed by a man whom she reported to police for stalking her in Kurashiki, Okayama Prefecture. (Japan Today )
