Ministry starts Super Cool Biz drive
News On Japan via Japan Times -- Jun 02
The Environment Ministry on Friday started its Super Cool Biz campaign to promote energy conservation in the workplace, broadening the type of acceptable clothing for its staff to include Hawaiian shirts and sandals.
The campaign is a step beyond the now-annual Cool Biz campaign that got under way a month ago, in which office employees are encouraged not to wear ties and to set air conditioner thermostats at 28 degrees to save energy. Super Cool Biz was started last summer to address the energy shortage caused by the Fukushima nuclear crisis.
