Chinese survey ship spotted in Japan EEZ
News On Japan via Yomiuri -- Jun 18
The Japan Coast Guard spotted a Chinese maritime survey ship in Japan's exclusive economic zone near the Senkaku Islands on Saturday.
At around 12:25 p.m., a coast guard airplane detected the ship sailing about 90 kilometers northwest of Kubajima, one island of the Senkaku chain.
The aircraft warned the ship by radio that it had failed to notify Japan in advance before traveling outside previously designated areas, the JCG's Naha office said.
