Ex-premier Mori not to run for lower house seat at next election

Former Prime Minister Yoshiro Mori has said he will not run in the next general election for the House of Representatives, political sources said Monday.
The 75-year-old heavyweight of the main opposition Liberal Democratic Party was quoted as telling a meeting Sunday in Nomi, in his Ishikawa No. 2 constituency, "It is important to make way for a young person, so I would like to refrain from running in the next election."
