Suspect held over rape and murder of Japanese woman in Romania

Romanian prosecutors said Wednesday they had arrested a suspect over the rape and murder of a young Japanese woman after conducting DNA tests.
Local media has said Yurika Masuno, 20, who arrived in Romania on Aug 15 to teach Japanese, was raped and strangled, allegedly by a man who had picked her up at Bucharest's international airport.
"The suspect was identified after DNA tests were made," a spokeswoman for the prosecutor's office, Dana Titian, told AFP. "Prosecutors have other evidence too, but the result of the DNA test was crucial.
