Disaster-hit Miyagi ports welcome 1st saury of 2012 season

The disaster-hit ports of Kesennuma and Onagawa unloaded Miyagi Prefecture's first saury of the season Monday morning.
At Kesennuma fishing port, the 199-ton Ebisumaru No. 1, registered at Uozu, Toyama Prefecture, landed about 48 tons of saury caught off Nemuro, Hokkaido. Many of the fish were midsize or large.
Wholesalers praised the meat as firm, and the saury were sold for an average of about 250 yen per kilogram. This was slightly more than last year's prices.
