Police have obtained an arrest warrant for a 61-year-old man on suspicion of murdering a woman and her young son at their upscale Tokyo condominium, investigators said on Sept. 14.
The 61-year-old, a company president who was living with victims Midori Sakaki, 38, and her 5-year-old son Shunnosuke, has been missing since their bodies were found inside the condominium in Tokyo's Shibuya Ward early on Sept. 13.
According to investigative sources, the man allegedly murdered Sakaki and her son at their apartment on the seventh floor of the high-security building. An autopsy has found that Sakaki was apparently suffocated while the cause of Shunnosuke's death remains unknown. The time of their deaths is about half a day apart, the sources said.
