Milos Raonic pounded 24 aces including the match winner in a third set tie-break to knock off Janko Tipsarevic 6-7, 6-2, 7-6. The third-seeded Serb did not break the Canadian's serve in the match.
After staring down one match point in the final set tie-break, Raonic crushed a two-handed back handed winner for the mini-break before finishing off Tipsarevic with his final ace. The match took two hours and 43 minutes.
Raonic won 87% of the points played off of his first serve.
After the disappointment of the first set loss, the third-seeded Canuck cruised in the second set, by breaking the Serbian's serve twice.
This will be the fifth time this year that Raonic has reached a semi-final on the ATP tour.
He will meet the winner of the Stanislas Wawrinka match with number one seed Andy Murray.
