The US Marine Corps has completed the deployment of 12 Osprey transport aircraft in Okinawa amid protests by local residents.
Three tilt rotor Ospreys arrived at the US Marine Corps' Futenma Air Station on Saturday, hours after leaving a US air base in Iwakuni, Yamaguchi Prefecture, shortly after midday.
The 3 are the last aircraft that were at Iwakuni for flight tests. Two of them required additional maintenance, including parts replacement.
As 9 Ospreys flew to Futenma on Monday and Tuesday, the US Marines now have all of their planned 12 aircraft deployed in Okinawa.
