Bag snatchers have been targeting women in Fukuoka City, with 5 cases occurring within 2 hours on Sunday night and about 50 cases this month, according to police.
A woman was robbed of 35,000 yen when a man on a motorbike snatched her bag while she was walking along a street in the central part of Fukuoka City at about 7pm on Sunday. Altogether 5 snatches were reported to police within 2 hours, 2 cases by a man wearing a black helmet, and 3 by a man wearing a white helmet.
Earlier this month approximately 50 bag-snatching incidents were reported in Fukuoka City. Police are warning people not to carry bags while walking along the road.
