Isuzu opens new Thai plant

Major Japanese truck maker Isuzu Motors has built a new plant in eastern Thailand. The company is hoping to make the country its export hub to the world market.
About 600 people attended a ceremony on Monday to mark the opening of the plant in Chachoengsao Province, east of the capital Bangkok. They included government officials from Thailand and Japan.
Isuzu plans to produce about 90,000 pickup trucks a year for sale in Thailand and for export to Europe and the Middle East.
