Panasonic Corporation says it lost more than 8 billion dollars in the first half of the fiscal year. The electronics manufacturer had initially projected a net profit for the period.
Panasonic said on Wednesday it posted a net loss of around 8.6 billion dollars from April to September. That's after the company booked extraordinary losses due to a slump in its cell-phone and solar battery businesses.
Panasonic says it expects net losses for the entire fiscal year to total around 9.6 billion dollars.
