News On Japan via Yomiuri -- Nov 09
KDDI Corp. has said its net inflow of customers under the mobile number portability system (MNP) surged to 152,700 in October thanks to brisk sales of Apple Inc.'s iPhone 5.
The provider of "au" mobile communications services stayed at the top for MNP net inflow for the 13th straight month, up 57,400 from September, it said Wednesday.
KDDI overwhelmed its rival SoftBank Mobile Corp., also a seller of the iPhone 5, because it offered better services, including expansion of areas covered by the Long Term Evolution high-speed communications network.
