I have been cycling around Lake Biwa in Shiga-ken for the last 3 days. The trip covered 160km and passed through some wonderful scenery. I went to Yakushima recently and took some photos near the beach and in the forest. Driving just a short distance produced such varied scenery changes, it was really interesting to get the chance to take photos different from the normal sets. The Incline at Keage in Kyoto is the old train line where barges would come down from Lake Biwa to Kyoto. Close to Nanzenji, where you can still see the Aquaduct, the Incline is a popular place in Spring due to all of the beautiful Sakura trees planted here. The Kyoto Gosho, Imperial Palace and gardens are a great spot for casual walking, playing sports or just sitting down and reading a book.
