A beautiful sunny start to the last day of the season. Temperatures are average for this time of the year, currently 9degrees C in the village and 5degrees C at the top of the resort. Winds are light to moderate allowing all spring lifts to operate.

It is a fairly bright but overcast morning here in Furano, with a chance of rain later on in the day. It hasn't been quite as warm these last few, with a high of 15 forecast for today. The forecast for Golden Week is generally fine, sunny weather.

Last day of the ski season here in Hakuba was May 6th. We lucked out and had another bluebird day and it was a grand way to wrap up a great winter season. The ski resorts are all closed now for skiing, however some will be still open for hikers .....

After a fine day it is getting darker now, the lifts have stopped moving for the last day and the season is now officially over in Nozawa. That went quick! Only 6 months or so to wait for the next snow to fall...

There is a lot of cloud around this morning and overcast but at the same time the sun is out. Anyhow the forecast is for cloud all of today and tomorrow as well. Things have cooled down a bit as well and it might not reach 20 degrees .....

More fine weather this week but generally cooler than it was over Golden Weeek - just about right if you ask me. Kagura remains open with a reported 180cm of snow still up there. If you are still on for some late season skiing or boarding, you can .....

Tenjidaira, the last ski area in the valley to be operating, closed yesterday, still with a 90cm base but bringing the end to the 2007-8 Winter season in Minakami. We hope to be upgrading the information next season with the addition of a new weather station and more information from .....
