Communications Research Laboratory

(CRL), has its roots in the Radio Telegraph Research Division, Electrotechnical Laboratory, Ministry of Communications, where research on radio communication was started in Japan in 1896. The CRL disseminates time and frequency standards and provides ionospheric and solar activity data for general use.
