Japan cooking oil prices skyrocket
JapanNutrition.com -- Apr 03

The price of cooking oil in Japan, which is indispensable for tempura, has risen sharply due to an increase in demand for soybeans and rapeseed.
From April 1, Nisshin Oillio and other manufacturers increased the price of cooking oil for household and commercial use by more than 20 yen per kilogram.
Furthermore, there is concern about a future rise in the price of flour as the government has increased the price of imported wheat for sale to milling companies by 5.5%.
