A Japanese Paralympian with a visual impairment has been injured after being hit by a self-driving vehicle in the Athletes' Village in Tokyo.
Police say judo competitor Kitazono Aramitsu injured his head and legs in the collision on Thursday afternoon. He was said to be walking on a pedestrian crossing at the time.
Police say he was treated at a clinic inside the village and that his injuries will take two weeks to heal.
None of the seven people on board the vehicle were injured.
The electric vehicle was being operated inside the village to transport athletes and Paralympic officials.
Kitanozo was due to compete in the 81-kilogram class in the men's Para judo.
