EHIME, Jan 16 (News On Japan) - Japan police have issued a nationwide warrant for a yakuza boss suspected of fatally shooting of man in Starbucks in Ehime on Sunday.
The man wanted on suspicion of murder is Yuichiro Maetani, a senior member of the designated violent group, Ikeda-gumi, aged 62.
Maetani is suspected of shooting Yuichiro Ishikawa, 49, in the chest with a pistol while Ishikawa was sitting on the terrace of Starbucks in Shikokuchuo, Ehime Prefecture, at around 4:00 PM.
According to investigators, there was a personal dispute between Ishikawa and Maetani, who is reported to have fled on foot while still armed.
Maetani is described as being about 163 cm tall, stocky, with white hair. At the time of the shooting, he was reportedly wearing a red jumper and beige-like trousers. A special investigation team, consisting of about 200 personnel, is tasked with tracking him down.
