TOKYO, Jul 20 (News On Japan) - Shohei Ohtani is set to open the next season in Tokyo, with high hopes for his return as a two-way player in Japan.
Major League Baseball (MLB) announced on July 18 that the Los Angeles Dodgers, featuring Ohtani and Yoshinobu Yamamoto, will face off against the Chicago Cubs, which includes Seiya Suzuki and Shota Imanaga, at Tokyo Dome. The two-game series will take place on March 18 and 19, marking the first MLB regular-season games held in Japan in six years.
Ohtani, who underwent right elbow surgery last September, is expected to make a comeback as a pitcher next season, fueling anticipation for his revival as a two-way player in Japan.
