PARIS, Aug 05 (News On Japan) - Hideki Matsuyama, 32, finished third in the men's golf competition with a total score of 17-under 267, securing a bronze medal on the 10th day of the Paris Olympics, August 4.
This marks the first time a Japanese man has reached the podium in this event, following Mone Inami's silver medal at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics.
Matsuyama turned professional in 2013 and quickly rose to prominence, becoming the first Japanese golfer to win the Masters Tournament in 2021.
