Ohtani wins 3rd MLB Silver Slugger Award

Nov 14 (NHK) - Japanese Major Leaguer Ohtani Shohei has won the Silver Slugger Award in the National League's designated hitter category for 2024. It is his third career winning of the prize, which he won for the second straight year.

The award is given to the best hitter at each position in American and National leagues.

The Los Angeles Dodgers' player has become the second Japanese three-time Silver Slugger Award winner after Suzuki Ichiro. That is another record for a Japanese baseball player.
