Yokozuna Hoshoryu Performs Unryu Ring-Entering Ceremony at Ise Shrine

MIE, Apr 13 (News On Japan) - Yokozuna Hoshoryu performed a powerful unryu-style dohyo-iri ring-entering ceremony on March 30th as part of the Grand Sumo Dedication at Ise Shrine in Mie Prefecture.

Following the ceremonial appearance of the sanyaku ranks in their colorful kesho-mawashi aprons, Hoshoryu took center stage for the traditional entrance, captivating the crowd with his presence.

Later, a series of sumo bouts by top-division wrestlers were held, including a spirited performance by Hoshoryu and Daieisho, the champion of the Spring Tournament. The event drew cheers from approximately 3,000 spectators.
