SHIZUOKA, Jul 21 (News On Japan) - The world’s largest obstacle race took place on July 19th at the foot of Mt. Fuji. The Spartan Race, held in the city of Susono in Shizuoka Prefecture, brought together participants from across Japan to compete on a 5-kilometer course packed with 20 obstacles. Racers pushed their physical limits as they raced against the clock.
Ryoma Sugata, 26, who won the men's elite category, said, "I’m absolutely thrilled. Being able to see Mt. Fuji while running made it an incredible course."
SRJ CEO Tatsu Teyogi commented, "With the cool weather at this slightly higher elevation, everyone is enjoying the race. It has turned out to be a really great event."
The venue also featured activity zones where visitors could try BMX cycling and other sports, attracting many families and creating a lively atmosphere.
