TOKYO - The Emperor, Empress and their daughter Princess Aiko attended the Tokyo 2025 World Athletics Championships together as a family on September 21st at the National Stadium in Tokyo.

The Emperor wore a yellow-green tie, while the Empress and Princess Aiko appeared in light green jackets. Using binoculars, they observed relay races and other events, applauding enthusiastically despite the heavy rain.

The World Athletics Championships returned to Tokyo for the first time in 34 years, with September 21st marking the final day of competition. Earlier in the tournament, Crown Prince Akishino and his wife attended the opening ceremony, while Princess Kako and Prince Hisahito were also present on separate days.
