Oct 25 (NHK) - Weather officials say a tropical storm, Saola, formed over waters south of Japan on Tuesday afternoon.
Japan's Meteorological Agency says it has a central atmospheric pressure of 1000 hectopascals.
It is expected to move northward over waters east of the Philippines, as it gradually gains strength.
The Meteorological Agency is advising people to keep an eye on the storm's course.
